  1. I've got the Phillips DP642, and while it's great to be able to view divx, xvid and other avi types, I can't find a resource on getting subs to show up on the TV!
Someone said to just brun them on the disk, and as long as the naming was identical except for the .srt, it would work, but it won't recognize them.
Any pointers as I have quiter a few titles with subs I'd like to watch.

    I believe just sticking them
on the disc won't work, either they will have
to be part of the avi,
as if say, you muxed the .srt file into the .avi
( I think there is a way to do this in QT, STF)
or it has to be authored as a valid VIDEO_TS
where the IFO will tell it subtitles are selectable.

Before you play the movie you need to select the sub file from file view. Then click the subtitle button on the remote. It will say the sub file is selected. Then play the movie and they should show up on screen. You can then turn them off or back on if the movie is still playing. Once you stop the movie, you will need to select the sub again and continue on as previously stated..
