    Hi
    Help much appreciated

    I have a Win XP SP2
For several days suddenly I can't import video files into Windows Movie Maker , I get the following error message : "C:\Tmp\ToLoad\2006_03_14\MVI_2387.AVI could not be imported. Unspecified error"

I have all video codec installed

All kinds of video files (divx, mpg, avi. wmv....) are working ok with Window Media Player and all others players

    Any suggestion?

Is that coming up when you run the application ?

If so , it is possible you have created a project sometime before hand and since then the file has either been removed , or corrupted .
Corrupted file can cause this to happen , so check that reported folder , if file exist's , remove it , and try again .

Alway's when completing task's in movie maker , clean out previous project's if nolonger required .

Next thing if that fail's is to uninstall all codec's , such as xvid , divx , ac3_filter's , ffmpeg ... nail them all .
Restart pc , and see if error appear's , if not , then one of those had developed a problem , most likely to be caused by ffmpeg .

Final , if you have movie maker , downloaded or otherwise available on cd , try running it , then reboot pc .
This can repair the program's issue should it be a problem in itself .

I suggest a better editor anyway.
Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
