    Is there any way in which I can totally remove all video codecs that are on my pc?
    I am having some issues and I just want to start from scratch.

    Try codec sniper be careful though....tread lightly. Read the big warning at the bottom

    I think you'll have mpg1 for vcd still on there. Isn't that standard in windows since windows 95?
