Problem with anime

Recently my friend turned me on to bleach a really good anime, like the dork I am I downloaded every episode but when i try to put the episodes to dvd the dam tv or burning program crops the image and i get half of or no subtitles what so ever. I am using the nero video author to take the avi and put them to dvd format, has anyone encounterd this problem before or no of a solution?
