I have a dvd which has poor audio/video sync. It is really bad. I don't know why. Is it possible that in ripping and backing it up I may end up with better audio/video sync just from the rip/backup process? Or is there something I can do to force the audio/video to be fixed in the backup?

    thanx,

    No, and, er, no.

You can rip it, demux it, and adjust the audio to try to fix it. Is the audio out the whole way through, by about the same amount ? Of does it drift out over time ?

If it is out by a constant amount, then you just need to fix the dely and remux the audio.

It is semi-similar. To be honest, its another dvd in the same condition as the last one I had which did this. Its in poor scratched up condition. Probably something that should have been backed up previously. I generally take good care of my dvd's, but when you buy used, you sometimes get less than perfect. I could always take it back to have them buff it or whatever. I'll see how the backup process goes.
