Help cant play purchased music on wmp

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I need your help. I purchased music from walmart.com and I can't play the songs. Walmart has already charged me because it shows as dounloaded but when I try to play it in windows media player, I get the following message "secure storage protection error, restore your licenses from previous backup and try again" What should I do to fix this problem?

Perhaps Walmart.com have a support mechanism or a FAQ ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. You have to be connected to the internet to get a license, you only have to do it once. You also need to have WMP 9 or 10.
In the future I recommend buying music from another source such as www.buy.com or www.allofmp3.com

Thanks for the replies guys, It's really appreciated. I called walmart and the rep couldn't get it to work either. But they are saying sice it already shows as downloaded they can't do anything about it. I am connected to the internet via broadband. I will never buy music from them again, I will check out your suggestions.

Do you have any other suggestions?

If it was me, my next step would be to call them back and talk to a different person. If they can't fix the problem and repeats that "they can't do anything about it", then I'd ask to speak to a supervisor. If the supervisor gives the same reply then I'd just say "well, since it's been less than 90 days since I bought a song which I can't play, and since you can't do anything about it, I suppose my only option is to disupte the charge with my credit card company". And if they continue to not do anything about it I'd dispute the charge.

  6. Rule of thumb: never buy anything that's DRM protected unless you have a crack.

I didn't know anything about DRM files. I thought once you buy the music, its yours. I didn't know I would go this mess.

I had same problem with downloaded drm music. If your using wmp9 try this from microsoft download centre, WM9Codecs.exe.
    Worked for me,good luck!

P.S. Think they have one for wmp10 as well.
