I know, there have been quite a few posts, about using the ADS Instant DVD and having the voice out of sync and looking like a really BAD Japanease movie.
I was also in the same boat.
I have a AMD 1.4 Gig processor and 500 meg ram. so im not exactly hurting in the hardware dept. Tho when i tried hooking up the ADS device to the LINE IN on my sound card (Creative PCI512) I was pretty much getting nothing but static, and that was using the Copy Wizard supplied by ADS or the software they give from ULEAD.
So i broke down, and picked up the Audigy MP3+, and used its line in.. much better, couldnt disable the echo back from the speakers tho, not a biggie..i just turned them off.
Ok same problem.. Great Video.. Great Sound.. but..out of sync. OK.. so we down load the Patch for the Instant DVD.. and of course...it has some esoteric information about sound manipulation..
So.. what i did to get my sound in sync. (worked for me). The delay on the sound capture is set at 180 mili-seconds,i bumped it to 250 ms. And as near as i can tell by testing it out on a dvd as input using Planet of the Apes to test with. I think.. the sound matched up, the way it should, least when the lips appared to stop at same time the voice did. So maybe this information might be of use..for any one else..thinking of purchasing the ADS Instant DVD unit.
I also downloaded from Ulead the DVD Movie Factory, and wanted to try out the menuing/chapters .. For some reason, it absolutly hated the VCD Mpeg created by ADS. I havent had time to try one out, created with TMPenc yet.
