  1. I just installed a newer version of FFDShow and now .mkv files arent displaying the subtitles that they were with the older version. im not sure which version i had before.

    Works fine here and I don't think the CVS has been updated since my build. Make sure that subs are enabled and accept embeded subtitles is also enabled.

  3. ok, when i run the FFDShow Video Decoder Configuration i can check subtitles and check Accept Embedded Subtitles, but when i run VFW Codec Configuration, i cant check Accept Embedded Subtitles.

    Well VfW isn't used for playback and the only way to parse an mkv file via VfW would be VirtualDubMod and its mkv support is out of date. Plus it would need to parse the subtitles to ffdshow. The whole thing is just not going to work. So you are trying to re-encode, add hardsubs? You need to extract the subs first.

  5. no, im not trying to reencode, im just trying to PLAY the file, its not playing the MKV with subs.

    What was that about the VfW configuration then?

    Like I said no problems here with current ffdshow. Guess it could be a problem with the splitter.
