A quick question.
Does the capture portion of ATI's MMC software depend on Direct Show?
The reason I ask is that when I try to capture with MMC (any version) or run DXDiag and don't tell it to skip the part where I get a message that there is a problem with Direct Show. I get the same BSOD.
I aslo got it when I tried somthing called APL2000
No other capture program I use give me the same problem.
In reading other treads I think the problem lays in one of the codec I have on my computer.
So, now I have to hunt which one makes Direct Show / MMC go nuts.
But, If all capturing on a windows computer need Direct Show, then why should I have no problems with other software.
Any Thouhts![]()

Just in case anyone cares
I fixed my problem with MMC and its tv/capture.
It seems I was right about the codecs.
Once I remove those that had "ATI" it is name (which causes no capturing to work in any application) I reinstalled both the (Orgianl) ATI display driver and MMC 7.1.
IT WORKS
So, if when you get the BSOD using capturing in MMC, try what I tried.
It may (or may not) work, but as we all know.
Computers have minds of ther own
