What are you trying to encode? AVI with ogg audio or ogm?

Could try a different ogm splitter. As far as I remember Tobias' splitter worked fine with TMPGEnc for ogm's. Doesn't support ogg files at all other than vorbis only ones though.

For alternative ogm splitters you have Gabest's, Haali's, Radlight's and illuminable's (kinda, strickly speaking it is an ogg splitter with limited ogm support).

I'd start with Gabest's. You will also need a vorbis decoder if your ogm's use vorbis audio since unlike Tobias' it doesn't include a decoder.

If you do have an avi with ogg vorbis audio. My advice would be to delete it. vorbis in an avi container is a really bad idea.

    So:
You can't encode AVI with ogg audio in TMPGEnc
You can't encode .OGM files in TMPGEnc
    Correct?
The reason why I ask so much, is that there's a big difference between OGM (which is a container like AVI) and .ogg (which is a codec like mp3)

ogg isn't a codec either. ogg is a container.

ogm was based/hacked on ogg since Tobias wanted vorbis audio and XviD video. As I said vorbis in avi is bad, so he created ogm which is basically just ogg+VfW video (also ACM audio and subtitles).

ogg was created by Xiph and can only store Xiph streams. So vorbis, flac, speex, theora and if they ever finish it; Tarkin as well as writ subtitles. The reason why this is so important is that all Xiph projects are open source and patent free. So ogg = 100% free, including patents. There for MPEG-4 would be bad.

A lot of peole think ogg is vorbis since it is by far the most common and popular thing stored in the ogg container is where the confusion starts.

TMPGEnc may be able to convert an avi containing vorbis. Guess it depends how it was created. The only half decent way I know is via ffmpeg and it along with ffplay is about the only thing that can decode/play it back. The other common way is using the old vorbis ACM encoder. TMPGEnc can maybe handle that if you have the same version used to encode installed. Then again it might skip the audio like it often does for VBR mp3.

Almost 100% sure that I have sucessfully converted an ogm using TMPGEnc and that includes working audio. I used Gabest's splitter and corevorbis.

I stand corrected - by ogg, i meant ogg vorbis, the audio codec, which mostly comes with a .ogg extension.

Convert is one thing, but the major problem i face now is it can't support at all. (I know how to separate the audio and video method). Thanks!

    Hi
It used to no problem for me to encode ogm files in TMPGenc until lately i install mkv codec, which comes with Haali's splitter(??), a lot of files can't support. Shall i uninstall the mkv codec to see if it can support or not?

I got this gabest's splittler file but i dunno how to apply it, would you please kindly teach me? Also, corevorbis, may i know where to get it?

You can find my compiles of both on my site at:
    http://celticdruid.no-ip.com/xvid/
    corevorbis is under Other Stuff.

For the spliter, extract the .ax to system32 and regsvr32.exe oggsplitter.ax to register
    regsvr32.exe /u oggsplitter.ax to unregister
If it has a higher priority than other splitters installed, then it is the one that will be used. You can use a filter manager to change priorities.

Yeah, TMPGEnc does not work well with Haali's splitter and since the TMPGEnc dev's don't like mkv, I can't see them fixing it.

You know what, after i remove mkv codec and haali splitter, everything works fine now. My TMPGEnc can support now.
Which means Haali will screw up TMPGENC function.

    Thanks....

I wouldn't say that it screws up. Just means that Haali's splitter was enabled for ogm's and had a higher priority that whatever splitter you used to use.

The fact that the splitter doesn't work with TMPGEnc I'd say comes more down to TMPGEnc since it works fine with other apps.
