Um... it looks like there are no RealProducer guides on this site, so I'm at a totally loss. This is sort of a general user question, but I have been known to uncover deeper stuff, LOL!

So, I downloaded RealProducer Basic, because I'm too cheap for the regular. I don't know if anyone here uses this product, but I'm having a problem. When I use an AVI file and convert it to RV, it's fine. Well, actually, I want to convert to RM, but I guess I just overlooked how to do that. I would also be thankful if someone can tell me how to do that too. Just a reminder: There is no RealProducer guide, so sorry if I just seem like some stupid person asking random questions.

Anyway, the problem is that every time I upload an MPEG file, an error occurs in RealProducer and it closes! Why? The MPEG file plays perfectly and it technically uses RealPlayer. Then, it won't go into RealProducer. (Remember, I am using Basic.) But, the AVI is fine. The MPEG is selectable for uploading. What am I missing? As always, I appreciate the help.

Real products aren't that popular around here. When I encounter that format, I change it to a less propitiatory format, Xvid for one.

But you might drop your MPEG video into the latest version of Gspot and see if there is anything obvious about the video that might be incompatible with Real Producer. Resolution, framerate or even the audio format.

Other than that, if you don't get any other help here, you might find a Real forum that would give you better advice.

Where could I possibly find a Real forum?? Anyway, I don't think there's a problem with the video. I read somewhere that RealProducer used to not supprot MPEG-2. Is that still true? Maybe I should use this Gspot... So, I still have no idea what to do. I really need to convert things to RM. What should I do?

You can do a Google search for 'Real Media forums'. Sorry, I don't know much about the format. Why do you really need to to convert to RM?

Thanks for actually responding. I will take your advice into consideration. As for the reason why I have to convert to RM, well... I can't really say.
