I have searched all thru this forum and it seems to me thatthe "pc" people won't give you the time of day "it cannot be done on a mac (compleatly ignoring in the tutorials) even if you do a wide search, Those other pc people act like Mac's don't even exist.

It' got me so ticked off wasting over an hour and i get nothing and i m going to recieve on Friday 350 Taiyo Yuden DVD-R 4.7GB, 8X, 100-Packs for a lagre project that going to take about 3 months to compleat.

I wont go into details over the past 4 months learning, searching, and posting

I use MTR from the DVD to the HD if original i dual layer or anything thats over 4.36gigs i simply use DVD2onex, i can do it in my sleep.

i don't want to change the end result to be any different

"full disk extraction" 3 steps ripp it, shrink it, burn it.

Now i see more disks with deliberat dummy VOB's.

The first step is to ripp it to the HD , it seems obvious that this can 't be done deleating or padding the ofending VOB's whick of course can't be done. That i know of I have not been able to ripp the whole DVD, i've tryied both options pad it and it my make it all the way but takes at least twice the time to x-fer the disk but the copy comes up with a smaller disk the the source DVD.

i use this forum quite a lot latley and have have gottin out of a lot of sicky situations.

The people are very helpfull, without it im sure that i'd have no hair by now.

Lot of great people and because of everybodys help i would not have gained as much info, the info cn be quite overwhelming as there is so much info here, i could not have gained the knowlage without the input i recieve from all the great people here.

So here i am again pleading foranswers with a dead line 2 feet behind me.

    One more thim HELP please.

You don't mention what version of MTR you're using. I bet you could use a newer version.

    MTR 2.6.6
It's only happened on 3 DVD's , i can deal with one or two, i just go and buy them again.

Now it's happened on 2 disks from Star trek tng. from 2 diferent seasons you can't buy one disk you have to buy the entire boxed set i came across one of them from the first season.

You can't even do straight disk to hard drive, draging the files off the DVD, onto your hard drive, i take this as a new copy protection sceam

Is anybody looking into this for a work around? , it seems to have started within the last 2 months

  4. It is a new copy protection scheme, and even the latest "donation" version of MacTheRipper doesn't deal with all titles successfully. At least not for full disk extraction. Movie Only seems to work, but in a compilation like the Star Trecks you have, I'm not sure if that will work.

Check the ripdifferent.com site (MacTheRipper forum) for more details.

Yes (Nods to case and Willrob) MTR 3.0r12 is the first
piece of the puzzle you need. The second is Toast 7.
The copy scheme is RipGuard, and the only (shrink)
app that handles it is Toast 7.

step 1. use MTR 3.or12 to rip ( it will tell you Deliberate Bad sectors)
step 2. Process the outputted folder with Toast 7 to disc.

DVD2ONEX has dropped the ball on this issue
as I reported several weeks back.
The only issue solution for Full Disc Ripguard is to
switch DVD2ONEX out with Toast 7.

Oh, and of course make sure you run OSX Tiger and QT 7
    (nod to Frobozz).

You have to go to www.ripdifferent.com, go to the MacTheRipper forum and get the info on donating. They send you a link to download the latest version (currently MTR3 r12).

Follow G4jedi's advice/steps to get new MTR.
Then Using new MTR, rip the disc using the Full DISC ArrCCos method.
Then, once it is complete, it will give you an outputted Video_TS folder.
Open Toast 7, select the Video tab,Seelct DVd from Video TS folder, drag and drop the output onto the open tab in Toast, insert a blank, and burn the disc. This will get you what you need.

OK I'm having problems as well...

I used to use MTR 2.6.6 just fine, and then all of a sudden it just stopped working for me. I get the following errors:
"failed opening IFO for title set 0
    mirror of VMG failed
    mirror of dvd failed"

It does this even with dvds i have ripped previously, so i know its not just copy protected jazz.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and i even got the newest version but it does the same thing.

    Can anyone help?
