I'm trying to capture video from several S-VHS-C tapes from a VCR (in a JVC C-P7U cassette adapter) to .avi files using a program called Fx VidCap (in order to create a video montage for someone's birthday (using Sony Vegas))
Anyway, the video looks decent while I'm playing them on Fx VidCap. But then I start to capture the file and when I look at the captured video file it looks horrible, wavy and liney.
How can I capture good looking video from S-VHS-C tapes? (The birthday is coming up soon and the only video she has are on these kind of tapes!)
Thank you very very much.
Justin

I'm not familiar with that program, have you tried any others? And with what codec and format are you capturing them in?
It sounds more like an interference problem. Check your cables. Try unplugging the audio cable and see if the problem is still there. Another possibility is a corrupted capture codec. No codec packs installed, I hope?
