    MacTheRipper seems to be the weapon of choice.
    Version 2.6.6 is free from versiontracker.com
    or macupdate.com. The more capable Version 3
    is donationware. Go to ripdifferent.com, join the
    forums, and look in the MTR forum on how to donate.

    Yes, you have to join the forums. It can take a
    while to be accepted. They're a tad paranoid.

    Yes, 3 is LOTS better than 266, especially with
    the newer and nastier protection schemes that
    266 can't handle.
