  1. Hi Guys,

I am trying to create a promotional video to run in a store that I work and I need to create a graphical overlay, but I can't seem to find any software (other than Premiere) that will do this quickly and effeciently. Any one have any ideas. I wish to actually overlay the graphics onto the video and then encode to MPEG-2 for DVD. So no subtitle streams. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    What's your video source material?
Quickndirty, I'd do it in WMM, save out as DV AVI, encode to mpeg2 with external encoder (like TMPGEnc or equiv)
Ah - Sorry - didn't read the whole story. Got the impression you wanted to overlay text...
If the source is AVI (or mpg) , I'd use VirtualDub(mod) and Avery Lee's Logo filter to add the graphics (has fade in/out, positioning, transparency), frameserve to encoder.

  3. I saw the VDUB setup in the FAQ, but I am working nativly in MPEG-2 with original material so I don't really want to have to convert all my files to avi and then back again. I am using the TMPGEnc Suite of software for editing and conversion so any add-ons or filters that can be added to that?

No matter how you go about it, you have to reencode to add the graphics overlay, right?
So, add the logo in VDub, but frameserve the result to the mpg encoder - don't save as AVI.
