I do a lot of editing and authoring of DVD compliant Mpeg2 files. I really never noticed this before but the movie length (time) and the number of chapters are incorrect.

I take a 1hr 10min clip and edit down to 40 min, delete the cut chapter (in this case 5 chapters) and author it into a Video_TS folder. When I check it with Media Info, it's still 1hr and 40min with 5 chapters. When I play it with Power DVD it shows the clip information at 40min and 1 chapter.

If I check the .VOB file with Media Info, it shows the clip as 9min 7sec and 1 chapter.

If I check the .VOB with Mpeg Video Wizard it show the clip at it's correct length, 40min.

    Any ideas?

From a practical perspective, if it works as it should when it should, I probably would not spend the effort to fix it. That is if it aint broke why fix it.
However, the engineer in me says WTFO. And if I had the energy I would investigate the file.

From my experience if you do your edits in TDA the the original clip has not been modified and the header info would show the original specifications. What TDA is doing is rendering around those spots that have been cut out and producing a file of the proper length.
If however, you did your edits outside of TDA and saved the file then used that one to input into TDA, I think you would see the data you were expecting.
