I work in a 911 center here in the states... We have a TV set that is on constantly, 24 hours a day watching the news. After business hours, (5PM through to 7AM next morning during the quiet periods the crews frequently bring in their DVD's and or VHS tapes to watch and keep occupied while on duty..The one we have now is an off brand; "Symphonic", and it has only lasted about a year, and is getting really worn out.. bout ready to die..
I've been elected to search out a new one..Last one cost us $80......This one we want to spend around $120-$200 on it if it's a good sturdy, durable one..
Any one have any recommendations on a heavy duty durable brand that can be counted on to at least last more than a year with constant, usually 16 hour a day usage?.. I've checked the listings here, but I also want the specifics on durabilty and sturdiness if anyone can throw some light in that direction..Has to be able to play both VHS & DVD..being able to play VCD, SVCD and/or Divx/Xvid/Mpeg is a plus but not necessary.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...TIA..
