DVD RW+ disk

Hi all.
I had a LITE-ON DVD recorder, just changed it to a SONY DVD recorder
my problem is that the RW+ disk i used on the LITE-ON will not work on the SONY 1, well they play but i cant erase them or record on them.
is there a way to re-format or get the disks back so i can use them as they are intented.

Try erasing the disc on a PC drive. You will have to re-format on the Sony recorder however, since PC drives can't format for a recorder.

i used nero 6 to erase all data on the disk, when i put it in the sony the message is simply (can not play this disk).
if i go to MY COMPUTER>right click on DVD drive there is no option to format. any other way i can restore the disk?
