I would like to know how to enable the Optical audio function on my motherboard. I have an onboard sound card and i am not getting any sound when i try to capture some TV shows with both cards mentioned below using the coax cable. I am about to buy a seperate sound card in order to plug the audio cable coming from my capture card to my audio card just to see if it is going to work.

The reason why i have a second capture card is because i tried to use my All in Wonder card and it didn't give the results i expected. First the sound wasn't most of the time in sync with the pictures (i was using the composite function), second, the software coming with the card was always freezing and third, i wasn't able to aply the most recent drivers from the ATI site (I thought my problems would be solved in applying the new drivers).

Please someone help me out. Thanks in advance.

Note: Under sound in the control panel everything is enabled.

    PC Configuration
CPU: Intel Pentium IV 3 GHz
    RAM: 1GHz
    MotherBoard: Asus P5GD1
Graphic Card: ATI All in Wonder X600 Pro
Capture Card: Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Expert

The S/PDIF is an output that normally goes to a surround audio amplifier. It sounds like you are needing an audio input instead.

If you have a tuner card, then the card should have a cable to hook to your audio card, line in.

This is either internal from the capture card to the audio in on the motherboard, usually beside the CD sound in, or a patch cable that comes out of the card externally and plugs into the line in on the rear panel.

EDIT: For ATI card capture info, check lordsmurf's site:
