A NEC 35xx would be my first choice, but my first choice on that page would be the Lite-On.

Either the $90 LG or the $80 LiteOn. Both are fine.

Without question the LiteOn SOHW-1653S. It's the best and most quiet of the bunch. Plus it's the cheapest. I'd avoid the LG 2166. It's sounds like a jet engine taking off when a disc is loaded. You can also hear it's burning speed increases. The only burner on that page I have no experience with is the LG 4166.

I wouldn't buy any from that page, newegg has a plethora of burners for about half the price and they have cheap shipping. Nyah Levi

I just don't feel comfortable recommending it unless people can accept it's limitations. The 5163B is a good drive if you need an external but it is a little dated. Are there no better sources for equipment? I believe I would look a little bit further. Good luck. -
Apparently the ASUS burner is a PIONEER drive, so any of them on that pages should be fine. I prefer PIONEER drives myself.
nelson133, those are not $USD but rather $AUD. The pricing is about as expected, pricing is not bad at all.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

The ASUS oem firmware support is pretty good too so the need to crossflash isn't really needed like some rebadged products. Definitely a good drive, I was just pointing out earlier that several newer models are available - doesn't make them better though!
