Hi there,
I am starting off with an AVI/Divx file, and converting to MPEG(s)vcd. I am converting these files using "Main Concept MPEG Converter". Everything works fine up until about 2-3 minutes from the end(approx. 42 minutes total). The video freezes, but the audio continues to play in the background. It has also happened with smaller files(approx. 22 minutes). I am fairly new to this type of thing, and have not been able to find any relevant info that will fix this problem. Can anybody help with this problem? Thanks.

It could be a corrupted AVI file. You can drop it into VirtualDub and then under 'Video', 'Scan video stream for errors'. If you find some, you can usually cut them out and resave the file.
If you can't find any problems, try TMPGEnc encoder. It's freeware for MPEG-1, such as VCD uses. It's also one of the better MPEG-1 encoders out there.
