  1. I have an xvid clip with ac3 audio. I had to uninstall xvid to get vegas to import the video. Now i'm trying to import the audio but I can't get it to work.I heard that vegas will import ac3 if its tied to a vob but not an avi. I've tried stripping out the audio to ac3 and to wave as well. When I extract the uncompressed wave file and try to import that it won't work but if i extract just some of the wave and then abort it WILL work but then i only have some of my audio. Anyone know why? I've tried ripping the audio with multiple programs as well.

use besweet to 6 mono wav files -- or mux the a3 with a blank mpeg

use tmpgenc or vegas and encode a black video the same length (or longer) as the audio at the fastest settings ...

use tmpgenc's mpeg tools and mux the two together
