Again guys, thanks for all your input. I wasn't sure if anyone would reply at all, and now I have all kinds of things to try. I guess it was needing to know if what I was doing was even possible, and then determining the most newbie-friendly way to do it.

AT the moment I'm getting help with trying to put my movies on CD using DVD Decrypter and then Auto gk. But some of your other suggestions sound good too. I believe I'll know today whether the first method will work, and if it doesn't for some reason I'll let you guys know what else I'm working on in case any of you have any more suggestions. The bottom line is that now I have several program suggestions from people specifically telling me that it will work for my needs, and that's what I was hoping to find. Thanks to all of you for your help, I really appreciate it.

  3. personally id buy a dvdrw

with how cheap they now are
the amount of time they save
and the fact that the cost of dvd media is under half the price of cd media per GB plus less cases needed for storing

means that they pay for themself pretty quickly
    breakeven point is approx 100DVDs
in uk dvdrw + 100 dvds (430GB space) is under £50 inc del
430 GB of cd space (6 x 100 packs) will set you back more than £50

if you really want to fit on cds and are therefore limited to 700mb
then xvid is your best choice
    id suggest autogk

can choose 700mb for short films or 2cd (1400mb) for longer films

i wouldnt reccommend overburning cds or using the 800mb ones to cram on extra data tried it myself and now those cds wont play even tho they did when i first made them
