I don't know if this topic is relevant here or anything, but it's the closest description I can find amongst all of them. Anyways, I have old Compusa DVD-R discs that record in 2x. My old Porsche Lacie dvd recorder broke, and had to get a new one. I have a Dynex from Best Buy that can record up to 16x. If I record on the Compusa 2x's, the only selection that I can set the record speed up to is 4x, and when I do record it at 4x, it is very unreliable. For example, if I were to copy files onto my dvd-r, and then I try to copy the files back to another hard drive, there are sectors that cannot be read. But my old Porsche Lacie can record 2x ( and a little bit slow because it is so old), and my Compusa DVD-R records with no problems. Anyone know how to force my Dynex 16x to record at 2x? Thanks...
