  1. I have mentioned this in another post but I have been trying to put three VOB files onto one DVD with Nero 6 and all I get is picture, no sound. I apparently need to purchase a plugin...but as I have managed to add AVI to DVD in the past (using Nero 6) I want to know how to convert the three VOB file movies I have to AVI so I can put them onto DVD.
I would need to know what program to use (free if possible) and what settings to use to get the best audio and visual quality I can and hopefully in a format that can be used with Nero 6 for burning. I no longer have the original discs so I cannot rip them again (I borrowed them off a friend who has now moved away) and even though I have a massive hard drive they cannot stay there forever!
Please, please, please can someone advise me,
    Regards,
    Zen

tda. not freeee but the best authoring tool.

if you want something free try dvdauthorgui,i think it might work directly with dvd compliant vobs or demux them using a demultiplexer (see tools section).

  5. thanks for that...I have tried that but the program just hung and nothing happened. I have followed the guide to the letter but I think there is a problem with the program...I am starting to think that I will have to give up and just delete my files. I cannot burn them to disk or convert them so what is the point!

If you have the vob files then you need IFOEDIT. It can create the requiered ifo and bup files from the vob's. Just be sure the are named VTS_01_1.VOB,etc.

  11. Hi.

Ok...first thing,if you run the vob. files in Nero Showtime,do they play correctly with sound?

If so,if you run Nero Vision Express you can add the vob. files, create menu`s etc and generally make the full dvd that you require.

Should there be any problems,Google for a program called VideoRedo and load the vobs into this (you can also cut bit outs out etc.).When the video is done, save it either as an MPEG or vob and try the whole process again of loading the files into Nero Vision Express.

    Hope that helps.Good luck.

  12. nope...no audio. Still get Plug-in needed notices and I can't afford to buy those plug-ins. Also that other software is Pay and could possible have limited functionality.
Does anyone know how to use SUPER or am I the only one who uses this software? This software is free and I have had success in the past...I just need to know what settings to use to get good results that I can burn onto DVD...

  13. I have downloaded TMPGEnc DVD Author...can someone give me a link to a guide to get me strated. I want to burn three movies onto a DVD in SuperLong Play (6hours) or record them onto their own discs as SP.
Do I need to do any converting first with any of the programs suggested so far or can this record from the VOB files directly.
I found Power Producer Gold on my PC and this managed to record the movie with sound but the sound quality is poor and very quiet...any tips on this would be good too.
    Thanks,
    Sorry about being a pain,

  14. Just out of curiosity, what version of Nero are you using?

I got the latest version of Nero 6 and havent had any plug-in required messages

  15. Nero 6 but it was on my PC when I bought it.
Are you using VOB files though? If I use AVI (or at least in the past) it has been ok. Using VOB's is new to me.

  16. Yes,I am using vob files copied from my dvd recorder. These are transfered from disk onto PC using DVD Decrypter (so as to create one file),edited with VideoRedo (to cut adverts etc.) and again saved as a vob file. Then I use Nero Vision Express to create the final disk.

The vob files can all be played with Nero Showtime with sound etc.

Might be worth a try downloading the latest Nero 6 updates from official website, though Im guessing that your pre-installed version (OEM?) MIGHT not accept the upgrades without a new serial number.
