How do you turn .sub or .idx files into something that can be used by Adobe Encore 2? Both these formats are image-based, are they not? Neither are supported by Encore with requires Text Scripts, Image Scripts or FAB Scripts.
I have used a number of utilities to convert .sub files, but they all require me to pretty much retype most the subtitles because the OCR is bad.
Is there are easier way? I will admit to being a noob when it comes to sutitle formats, ie which does what, etc. Any info would be helpful.
Regards,
Fallon

You must use subrip for converting idx files into srt.
Open the srt in subtitle workshop , by tools take information and errors 2x and fix errors and save as adobe encore subtitle,
then open the txt subtitle in notepad and save as utf-8 (and not ansi)
