  1. I have a Video_TS folder with IFO, BUP and VOB files..
if I burn this folder as a DATA dvd with nero, will my DVD player recognize this as a Video - DVD? or shud I create an ISO and burn that??
EDIT: I believe the Video_TS folder i have is already ripped using an app like DVD-decrypter

You should burn as VIDEO, not DATA as your standalone will probably not recognise the disc.

I usually create an image with Image Classic and burn with Image Burn, but each to their own!

  3. OK if i use 'Burn DVD-Video' in NERO and drag my video_ts contents to the 'red' Video_ts folder in NERO - will the re-encode start or will it burn as it is??

  4. So the combined size of the files is bigger than the disc you're trying to write them to, is that it ?

Sounds like you need to look at the guides / stickies as to converting DVD-9 to DVD-5. You may want to cut out unwanted streams, extras and wotnot to try and make it fit before letting something like Nero loose on it with the whole transcode (shrink) thing. There are a couple of ways of doing this, you need to select the one that suits you best.

I don't know where you got that from, but I did'nt once mentin I was shrinking something at all.. :P
My DVD Video_TS folder is somewhere arnd 2.5 gigs only
I was just askin' if doin' by the method I asked would make Nero re-encode everything and then burn (OR) burn as it is.. ( I can't test this as I don't have a DVD writer ) That's all!

Nero in DVD-video mode does not re-encode AFAIK.

    http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/NeroExpress.htm for more info.

But if you're unable to burn it ATM, the point is ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

No, then. Why do you think a burning application would want to re-code anything if you're only talking about half a disc worth of stuff ?

    Only tryin' to help.
