I'm not sure that this has been asked before..

But, Is there any way of incorporating/modifying the * SEARCH * that when
it finds your requested string, ie.. "hisense" then it will bring you
to your exact place in the forum thread(ed) topic ??

    SEARCH

Example of poor search results found:

    [hisense ]
( ) Search for any terms..
    (o) Search for all terms.

    Results in two finds were:

    Question about MyHD cards.
    [ Goto page: 1, 2 ]

Most Monitors Will Not Play New HD Video
    [ Goto page: 1 ... 10, 11, 12 ]

    FWIW..

For the first thread subj, I found the first match on page 2, and

For the 2nd thread subj, was found in the 4th and 5th link (but you had to first
search EVERY link before you found the match(s)

    ** part 1

    Thanks,

    ** Part 2..

I was wondering as an alternative or something to research..

Could there be some kind of implementation to include the actual page
number [with an asterisk, "*" by the number] of the actual search
results matching the search string ??

    (revised method below)

    Search Results:

    Question about MyHD cards.
    [ Goto page: 1, 2* ]

Most Monitors Will Not Play New HD Video
    [ Goto page: 1 .. 4*, 5* ..10, 11, 12 ]

    - Now, for some notes and ideas..

I recall previous searching around, where the "search string" would be highlighted.
At this time, when I do this searching (as in above search) there is no highlighting
or BOLD'ing of searched words. Perhaps it was turned off for the time being ?

But, let us suppose that they are not turned off. And, let us continue with the
idea that for every matched search string, they are BOLD'ed..

Somewhere in your PHP script, could you use these (shall I say) indicators to record
the page the search result is found. Thus, if multipile searches are found, it is
reason to believe that there will be multiple of pages as well. And, inside your
PHP script (or programming - whatever) you could mark them, for later "link*"
(or, link-asterisk) results on the final search results page.

I'm not sure if this will be a huge understaking for you and this forum web
site - I hope not - but if it would be such, then I leave it up to you, and
    the above proposal of suggestions.

Thank you for taking the time to read me suggestion/idea
