My JVC player can remember where the DVD was last playing after the tray open/closes, and weeks later.

But a Sony and Samsung I tested could not do any of this.

What other brands, for my own knowledge, can also do what JVC does? Is there an online chart I can refer to in future for this? thanks!!

    thanks lords.

    never heard of centrios, ever.
but that's it? I really consider this a very important feature. With it your DVD's are almost like Cassette or VHS tapes in that you pop it in machine and you are right back to where you left off, whether that was week or month ago.

All these other manufactures don't see it that way??

Both my Sony's do, and an Apex that I had a couple years ago did. On those players the length of time makes no difference- one day or 3 months. It's the number of disks. Both Sony's remember the last 12 or 14 disks (don't remember which). The Apex remembered the last 10 disks. If I put in a 13th (or 15th of 11th) then the oldest memory was dropped and the new disk added.

  9. My Panasonic S47 will memorize up to about 6 discs. But you have to push the "position memory" button to memorize the position before you stop playback. Very annoying. These decks should memorize automatically. It is strange that engineers don't think of these small features.

But only with a DVD, not a disc with DivX files on it.
