  1. My actual capture card doesn't encode in mpeg2 format, and I've to use WinDVR3 to capture in real-time in mpeg2 format, but using the software recourses.

When my new card arrives (PVR 150), If I've to use WinDVR, the system knows that encode process will occur in the card not in the computer processor ?

    Do you understand me?

You should not need to use winDV with the PVR150. It will come packaged with WinTV2000 and that is what you will use to setup and capture from the PVR150.

I use it with GB-PVR, and the hardware is doing the encoding, yes. I don't think there's any way to get video out of the Hauppage 1/2/350 cards without using the built in hardware encoding.
GB-PVR can be set to encode the captures to AVI (using sioftware encoding) when they have finished too, should you ever want AVI format.

Best used for manual capturing like from VCR, Cam etc... is WinTV2000.
Best for Tivo like caturing with EPG from Cable, AIR, Satellite that would be tools like GB-PVR, BeyondTV, SageTV and min other.

You are correct, the PVR150 will do the encoding and not your cpu.

I suggest that you first get everything working using WinTV2000 and then you can try some of the other programs like GB-PVR or BeyondTV. I say this because WinTV2000 is easier to setup than GB-PVR. Later when have a good feel for how things are working then try the other apps.

GB-PVR is a pain in the as... for getting a TV guide... it is not very user friendly in that aspect.
