I used adware to scan a computer that had a bunch of advertising, Parasites and cleaned up most of it, I also ran a scan disk, windows update. Even the desktop had a virus screensaver. I located the screen saver and deleted it, and now when I right click on the desktop/properties it doesn't display anything, like if I erased the main page.Just the icons appear with a white page.

Now If I reboot the pc I can access the internet but after a few minutes I cannot open any icons or go into start programs and open anything.
I cannot even go to control panel. And if I close the internet I cannot get back in, unless I reboot the pc.

This pc has windows pro and it's a custom built pc.

Should I just reload windows xp?
If my drivers do not load back, is there a good website where I can scan the computer and load the drivers?

    Thanks for your help.

    I'd reinstall windows. Freshly.

You can go 1 of a couple of ways with drivers:

    1. Let XP autodetect and use its own drivers. Should get most components going to a workable state. Surf the web for the correct drivers and use if required.

    2. Download all the drivers now, prior to reformatting. I normally use google and just search for a model number (normally found on the chip part of most components). Or you can search places like driverguide.com.
    If in doubt, Google it.
