I couldn't tell you - don't have one. Does it have nobs to adjust black level, contrast, or other things like that? If yes, then it is. If no, then it is not.

Yes, it has all of those controls. It also has 3D Y/C and NR controls.

Isn't that against the law doing copyrighted material like that? I'm targeting home videos and stuff like that. Besides, why would anyone want to pay to have a featured movie converted from VHS when they can buy the featured DVD for the same price or cheaper? Unless it's a movie that is out of print then I can see the point. But still, that would be copyrighted material and I cannot see that as being legal.

Dammit, of course this unit is nowhere to be found, lol
Just use the method I did ... Buy one at a store ... take it home and check it out ... if it passes the test ... keep it ... if it don't ... return it.

Fill in the locator section ... and see where a Mitsubishi Dealer is in your area.

I did and a dealer is 20 miles away .... and I called them ... just now ... he said he can order one from Mitsubishi

I am not a lawyer, but, I believe it's not against the law to have backups of something provided you own the original. Fair use.

Why would anyone want a featured movie converted? Well I think you answered your own question. There are literally thousands and thousands of VHS releases that have not and will NEVER see a re-release in another format. Of course someone wouldn't come to you with something they can purchase at Walmart for $9.99, but those people aren't your customers anyway. BTW, one of my favorite movies from my childhood, The Wizard, is such a movie. Only available on VHS.
