    Then you would have to convert it to DVD compatible MPEG format and author it as a DVD. If you look to the left under 'CONVERT' you should find some guides to assist you. Search for 'WMV to DVD'. DivxToDVD says it can do it. TMPGEnc encoder can with some help and SUPER should be able to.

    "A WMP file" isn't very descriptive nor helpful to anyone trying to help you .... it could be literally at least 20 different types of video and god knows how many audio possibilites - all the WMP icon means is that it is associated to play with WMP.

    First thing is to identify the file type by extension - you may need to turn off "hide file extensions for known filetypes" - Do a forum search or google for instructions on how to do this.

    Second option is to open the file with GSpot, AVICodec, VideoInspector, or even one of the virtualdub variants, and try to find out what video and audio codecs your file uses. Hopefully one of these programs will tell you what type of file (container) it is also.
    If in doubt, Google it.
