I am using DVDit 6 to create a DVD that has both slideshows and videos for a family history project. On my main menu, I have some buttons, text and I have a short video file (AVI) that I want to continuously loop. The problem comes when I try to either preview the menu or burn the DVD. When I try to preview the menu, I get the message that says that the menu will not be animated unless I press the button to build it. When I press the button, I get a message that states Operating System Error: HRESULT=0x800401F3 - Invalid class string -14 and then it quits. This is the only time I see this message.

If I do not animate the button and I preview or burn the disk image, the whole menu works beautifully, but I cannot burn or write a disc image with the "animate button" attribute checked without getting the error shown above.

I am positioning the video as follows: The main menu has a portrait picture that is inserted as a "Button Image", although it does not link to anything. There are two other images that are inserted as "Navigation Button"s (one for "play" and one for "chapters") and there is some text. Other than that is the signature avi file. It is inserted as a "button video" and is set to "animate". That is when it fails.

I have confirmed that I have the latest versions of IE, WMP, Active X, video and dvd drivers (I have a Plextor 716-A) and all possible codecs that I could find. Sonic Customer support has been less than helpful and so I am posting here.

Thank you
