hi all, i am new to the forum and am impressed on the site. well i just bought serif movie plus 4 plus the effects studio and for me this is incredible, the things i can do with video is just amazing. well my exact question is what codec would be best to capture tv to hard drive but still keeping the file size moderate. i just learned that movie plus struggles with a file over 1gig. thanks all and glad to be here

What capture card do you use?
Unfortunately, quality and small (moderate) file size is mutually exclusive. If you're going to make some edits of your captures, use as uncompressed format as possible when capturing. Take a look att Huffyuv if your card captures to AVI.
