    Hi,

I want to join 3 AVI files, say, file A,B,C

I follow the procedure in your guide, which is also the same reported in other websites, but I cannot succeed.

    Here what happens.

I open A, then append B, then append C then Video Direct Stream and finally save as AVI.
    I get, A+B+C+B

The strange thing is that I can see in the bottom slider the right file size, every file is in fact 250 MB, so I see 750, but when it saves the estimated file size is 940MB.

I thought it was a bug in 1.6.11, then I tried 1.6.13, but same problem.

    Ideas?

    Thanks
    Alex

try join two at a time, a+b and then ab + c.

and contact virtualdub about the bug, http://virtualdub.org/contact

  3. Do you know that VirtualDub automatically appends sequentially numbered segments? Is it possible that B in your example is being auto-appended because the name is "1" more than than C?

For example when appending these three files in this order:

    FILEA.AVI
    FILE2.AVI
    FILE1.AVI

FILE2.AVI will automatically be appended (unless you disable the "Autodetect additional segments by filename" option in the file append dialog) after FILE1.AVI is appended, giving four files instead of three.

Don't you have to manually enable auto appending?

    edit: not in newer versions...

  5. The additional frames and running time on the seek bar don't fit in with the hypotheses but I thought I'd mention it.

    Hi,

jagabo is right, that was the reason of my problem.

That option is a bit strange to me and really you do not notice it unless somebody tells you.
I have unchecked it and now it works!

Thank you very mcuh for your tip.

    Regards
