Created a DVD slide show using Memories On Tv and turned out great. Created DVD files (audio and VOB) and burned to DVD using Instant Copy 8. Played fine on my PC and both my DVD players. Made 5 copies and sent them out--wouldn't play on their DVD players. One said he played it on one of his old DVD players and it worked.
Took the audio and video files from MOT and ran through Shrink, backed up again with Instant Copy 8 and burned with Decrypter. Still no go on their machines. DVDs that I've backed up have worked on these same machines so I would think it has something to do with MOT.
Would have tried to backup with Nero but the one that came with my burner says it needs some kind of plugin or something. Why give you Nero with your DVD burner if it won't work straight out of the box?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

wish I could help but I've never had this problem. Usually select Generate New Video then take the resulting mpgs to TDA for authoring since MOTV menus are pretty poor. Then use imgtools classic to make image and DVD decrypter to burn.
You haven't changed media or firmware recently I guess?
How do you make copies?
Don't think DVD shrink will do much for you here."The fact to which we have got to cling, as to a lifebelt, is that it is possible to be a normal decent person and yet be fully alive." - George Orwell -
Normally with DVD movies--DVDFab to Shrink to Instant Copy burn DVDecrypter. Burned over 800 or so successfully.
Thought it might be some strange structure caused by MOT. Ran it through Shrink as a last resort. Strange it would play on both my players--Phillips642 and an old Apex1100--and some of the players that won't play the MOT version DVD have played copied DVD movies without problems.
There was quite an array of choices during MOT output; but I think all those were for further authoring (with MPEG2 files, etc.) Searched the web and here for guides for MOT--three results but not really any detailed instructions for using MOT. Will try Pro Show Gold trialware and see how that goes. Have tried it before but I like MOT better. Photos and mp3s load much faster. Like the smoke effect, don't know how the Ken Burns effect compare between the two.
So you say that after saving video from MOT it is exactly the same as a VOB from a movie DVD (more or less) or are the Mpeg files or something different. I noticed something about Mpeg1 in MOT but didn't pay close attention. Also, I left the stored files on the DVD when I burned it. It didn't seem to affact the play on my machines. Wouldn't think that would bother the other players--probably just ignore a data file. Who knows? -
Pretty much how Kisrum does it for me, one option where I mix & match home footage is save each Memoriesontv as an mpeg2 and throw it in dvdlab pro to create masterpiece.
Also created whole dvd's just using motv without issues (apart from my choice of media)
If people cannot view some of my products on tv, I suggest they also try their pc, and those where I sent blanks out for viewing (hmmmm) I send out another copy of different media.(and note who can see what)
As the old saying goes, "If you want to see how it really should look, come over to my place to see it"
