I am new to downloading HD files directly from my cable company-supplied Motorola 6412 phase III HD recorder. This box has Firewire outputputs on the back and using the Apple-supplied program "Virtual DVHS", I can record onto my Mac the output of the DVR.
This leaves me with an MPEG file with the .m2t suffix.
I can view and edit this file with mpegStreamclip, but the editing feature isn't as precise as what I'm used to seeing in the EyeTV 1.8.5 software used with my EyeTV 500 HD recorder.
Is there any way I can get this file into the EyeTV 1.8.5 software so I can do editing and playback?
Or, I suppose, some way to more accurately position selection points in mpegStreamclip ...
