I had a few avi files that wouldn't open in TMPGEnc3.0 XPress. When I tried to open these files, I would get a message sayting that only the audio could be opened. Checking the files with GSpot, I found that I apparently needed the xvid codec. I installed it. One of the files now apparently opens just fine and can be edited.
However, when I try to open the other file, the "audio only" message no longer appears, and the program seems to go thru all the proper motions of opening the file, BUT only the audio opens. There is no picture to be seen, only a black screen.
Is the problem with the codec? Or with that particular file maybe?
Help?
