  1. whats best way to put images on a cd so you can view them with names on the images on a home dvd player ie: so when looking at pictures on home dvd player you can also see text as whats picture about

    At least go with a slide Show SVCD....pictures on a VCD look so crappy.

    Dvdslideshowgui can do all of this ... but it create's video file's ... you tell it what transition's , and time between each clip is , and it produce's the video .

    Best thing is it dosent muck with the size format of you picture's , ie , no sqeezing or stretching them out of shape .

    If you want to beable to use the remote to control the playback of each clip as individual item's .. that is a little more envolved , and require's .

    Ifoedit , vobedit , pgcedit , virtualdub , notepad ... that's the work's .

    Dvdauthorgui and the gimp for creating the menu's and basic dvd authoring .

    Which remind's me to finish another guide for pgcedit soon .

    Dvd on cd is known as minidvd ... you will need to check if your player's support the playback of such item's .

    VCD supports 704x480/576 still pictures.

    A VCD slideshow creator like Photodex Proshow would proabably be easiest.
