    What program ?
    What video format ?
    What resolution ?

Details man, details. It may be possible, or it may be that the video is so far from compliant you need to re-encode. However, until you give us something to go on, you can't seriously expect a sensible answer.

  4. im using the program "avi2dvd" for this one, if u have miltiple files you just need to rename them "Matrix CD1, Matrix CD2" and it will merge the files together. The type of files iv been using are .mkv ones and also .ogg.

this isnt the only program - some times there are problems with the audio so i reencode it using virtual dub mod with works about 70% of the time

Go back to your original DVD and make a new backup.
