  1. Hi guys i use dvdx1.6 and tmpg i copy the dvd correctly (afaik) and get a mpeg1 file at the end which plays in real player just fine. the problem is when i burn it on to a cd it is not recognised by any dvd players (i have tryed a samsung 105 and schneider dvd 855) when i check the cd in my computer there is a solatery mediaplayer file on it is this right? as another vcd that i have seen has several folders in it. cheers

    Did u burn it like a standard data cd. It sounds like u did.

    It has to be burned through an VCD burn style.


    A VCD is different than data cd's. It has lil error correction and a huge "area" outside of the file system that can hold pure data. That is why computers only "see" around 1.34 megs.

  3. i'm assuming all DVD players recognize VCDs....however those 2 dvd players may not recognize certain CD-R discs....or any for that matter.

    ya, Greg12 is right. use nero to burn the .mpg file using nero VCD template to burn in mode 2/xa
