Hey I'm new to editing video. A friend of my sister showed me a DVD movie he made and I was impressed enough to try making one myself. He said he used Final Cut Pro to do the editing and mixdown. Later I found out that Final Cut is only offered on the MAC platform. My question is this: What is a comparable software is available on PC?

PS: I have a copy of Adobe Premiere Pro that hasn't been installed yet. I've been in love with adobe since highschool but will this program meet my editing and DVD making needs?

Again i'm a total noob when it comes to video and I'm building a PC with a video capture card, and a firewire card. Any general advice will also be useful. Thanks in advance.

Those are the Prosumer leaders, there are many more intended for novice or family DV editing. At the Pro end, video editing programs usually use the "Pro" word seriously. It means it will be your main job to master these versatile programs.

The list is long. Better you describe your project.

You might find Premiere Pro a bit much. There are good training DVDs for those serious.
