I have a lot of avi clips i need to split up in to separate files,
each video clip is separated with a 5 sec or more black screen between them.
Each avi file has 28 clips on it about 1hr 40 mins long.
It is a pain to split them manually.
i just need somthing to auto sense the black gaps and cut & save them as INDIVIDUAL files (not one big file ) without re-encoding them.

Cbreak came closest the others wanted to save them a one big file but i want to save them as separate video clips.
Even if it just does mpg thats ok i have them in mpeg also.

Any ideas would be much appreciated,

    Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is Comskip, but I don't think it will help much for splitting files.

  3. Comskip with mencoder, Cuttermaran, womble, or videoredo, would do it.
Have comskip detect the blackframes, then the editors can split automatically, based on comskip's results.
Plenty more of this in the GBPVR forums.
