  1. I am capturing with a Dazzle DVC II. I then edit it to cut out commercials. From this site I was told to then run the MPG thru tmpgenc. that takes about 2 hrs for 45 minutes of mpg. I then burn a VCD with NTI. I recently skipped the middle step and just burn the VCD from the edited file. Am i doing something wrong in this? I see no difference in the quality just a large time savings? Is the tmpgenc step really just overkill since its already in MPG form and not AVI??

Would I see better VCD results with Nero over NTI?

  2. I don't know what NTI is But if the Dazzle is capturing MPEG1 or MPEG2 stream and the quaility is ok, just go ahead and burn it. TMPGenc is to encode MPEG1/2 files, no need to re-encode (will only lower quaility).
