I have a lot of TV recordings in MPG and today I use AVOne Video Converter to convert them to MP4. The first problem is that this converter does not make the movies hintet so I can stream them. And does not have a option for this.

Second, the converter does have a batch mode, but every time it changes to a new file the process priority changes to normal, from whatever it was. This interferes with my tv recording service and make it often fail.

Is there any easy to use converter that does hint the files? And maybe is able to automatic convert any files in a folder? The converter MUST have a batch mode, so Quicktime pro (i have it) is out of the question.

encode with mencoder or ffmpeg to a raw mpeg-4 (asp or avc) stream

than remux this stream to .mp4 with mp4box or mp4creator (which can also hint the file)
