  1. I've got a MiniDV capture that's 37 minutes long that I'm trying to compress down as far as possible while still retaining good quality.

Right now, the movie is three VOB files (I can't remember why I ended up with VOBs after using ULead Video Studio 7 to capture) that together are about 2.5GB.

After going through all of the steps in Gordian Knot, I get to the DIVX setup part and select Multipass / 2 pass and set the slider to various bitrates for each pass. The weird thing is, I can't get below 930MB for a final file. One time I set each pass at 1500, another time I set it a 998 and I ended up with almost the same size file.

How can I get this thing smaller?

    Thanks.

For the benefit of forum searchers who might have the same questions as you, would you mind providing how you fixed it ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
