I have Encore 1.0 and Premiere. I would like to use a scene from my video as the menu screen in Encore. How can I go about doing this. I would like to also add music to it, but I don't have to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this is the right forum to post in

I wouldn't touch Encore with a barge-pole, especially version 1.0, whose bugginess is legendary. However if I were to take a guess, drag and drop the video onto th emenu background would be where I'd start. It's a pretty standard approach in a lot of authoring software.

What would you suggest for an authoring tool then. I had Pinnacle before and I thought that was buggy.

Ulead's DVD Workshop 2 is well regarded and pretty easy to use. A lot of us use DVD Lab Pro, although it's learning curve is steeper. TDA is a good, solid beginners authoring app.
