I'm trying to backup my girlfriend's Sex in the City Season 6 discs and each disc has 4 episodes.
I'm fairly new to this, but this is what I've been trying.
What I'm doing is using DVD Shrink to re-author each disc, stripping out only the 4 episodes. Then I went to Nero 7 and used the "create your own DVD" option and in there, it lets me create a menu, and I check off the box to have each menu item dynamically linked to each episode. When I preview it in Nero, all the 4 buttons work to go to each episode.
After it burns, all that comes up is the menu with the 4 icons, but they aren't clickable. The episodes ARE there if I explore the DVD but I can't get to them on a regular DVD player of course.
How can I create a menu to link to each of the episodes? Should I try to keep the original menu?

If you aren't actually changing the number of episodes per disc, why not keep the original menu ? I could understand it if you were putting 6 episodes per disc to reduce the number of discs, but otherwise it seems like a waste of time. Use Shrink to replace any extras etc with a black screen to reduce space.
Your other choice is to use a better authoring tool like TDA to create your new menu.Read my blog here.
