After editing AVI file it becomes unplayebale?

Hello

Weird problem just started happenign to me...I edit my AVI files with VirtualDub and suddenly the original file wont play in windows media player...I play them but the movie doesn't play forward...its frozen and I can scroll thought and see all the images but no movement...If I press stop and then play again I get an error message "the enumerator has become invalid"....

Yet I can play the same file in other media players...This problem only started occuring recently and I cant relate it to any system changes I have made...The windows meia player version was 9 so I upgraded to 10 to see if it would fix the problem....no change, same problem.

Has anyone some clue or suggestions about this? Thanks in advance

The original being the file before you edited it ?

yep....but sorry I have just solved this...I somehow lost my divX codec from my system....have just reinstalled....problem fixed....might leave post up...it may help someone else...I found other people with this problem on the net but nobody had given a solution...
